The Public Relations Wing (PR Wing) organised the Junior Police Call (JPC) Award Scheme 2022 Award Presentation Ceremony at the Police Officers’ Club on March 11. The ceremony was attended by over 300 people, including JPC members, parents, school representatives, JPC Central Advisory Board members and representatives of the JPC Honorary President Council. More than 100 JPC members wearing the new JPC uniform received commendations.

This inaugural Award Scheme was participated by over 3 100 JPC members. Among them, 15 received Gold Stars, 92 received Silver Stars and 362 received Bronze Stars. The youngest awardee was only 7 years old. In addition, 17 primary and secondary schools received the “Most Active School” award. During the ceremony, highlights and interviews of the awardees’ activities in the past year were shown. The awardees also shared their experiences and feelings about obtaining the award.

At the ceremony, Commissioner Siu Chak-yee congratulated all the awardees. He said the ceremony marked the transformation of JPC from a quasi-uniformed youth group to a uniformed group. The JPC scheme is committed to nurturing youth leaders and crime-fighting partners for the community by cultivating in them positive thinking, law-abiding awareness, discipline, team spirit and an understanding of the importance of serving the community. The scheme aims to encourage JPC members to participate more actively in a wide range of activities and broaden their horizons to prepare themselves to be future leaders of the community with contributions to Hong Kong, the country and the whole world.
