Chief Superintendent of Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) Cheng Lai-ki led a delegation of 11 members to visit the Criminal Investigation Department of Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau (CID PSB) on March 31. The delegation was greeted by the head of Shenzhen’s CID PSB Mr Zhang Zhanning. It was the first visit between the Bureaux since the borders of both places opened up.

The delegation and its Shenzhen counterpart shared the latest trend of cross-border technology crime, including naked chat, compensated dating scam and phishing, and explored the feasibility of joint operation. Moreover, both sides discussed the latest modus operandi and tools in intelligence gathering and technology crime investigation, and explored the means to combat technology crime jointly.

The delegation subsequently visited the Anti-Fraud Joint Service Operation Centre of Shenzhen’s CID PSB to understand the latter’s experience in collaboration with financial institutes and telecoms to combat fraud and technology crime. The visit has fostered CSTCB’s relationship with its Shenzhen counterpart and consolidated the foundation for further cooperation.
