Industry leader shares experience in action

To develop officers’ professional knowledge and their ability to handle public relations, Public Relations (PR) Wing organised a sharing session on April 27 under the Professional Communication Series. Veteran crisis communication expert Mr Kwan Chuk-fai was invited to be the speaker on the theme, Tackling PR Risk in Action, to enhance officers’ crisis management prevention and contingency capability. With attendance of 60 officers, Mr Kwan shared his experience for over three decades in various large corporations as senior management dealing with PR incidents. Assistant Commissioner (PR) (ACP PR) Chan Tung led officers to exchange views with Mr Kwan and analyse the challenges encountered by the Force.

Moreover, to promote police and public relations and deepen the society’s understanding of police work, PR Wing regularly invites people from different backgrounds, including media organisations, community stakeholders, schools and partners, to come for visits. To this end, PR Wing has set up the PR Wing’s Publications Exhibition Area in the Force Library at the Police Headquarters to showcase its work and publications to visitors. In the meantime, PR Wing has finished the optimisation works at its offices in the Headquarters. A creative discussion space called “i-PORT” has been set up for visitors to learn about PR Wing and discuss collaboration projects in a comfortable and interactive environment. Director of Operations Chan Joon-sun, ACP PR and Chief Superintendent of PR Wing Tsang Shuk-yin were invited to officiate and perform ribbon cutting at the opening ceremony of the area on April 20.
