The annual Police Athletics Championship was held at Wai Chai Sports Ground on April 6. The achievements this year were outstanding. Three woman senior inspectors broke three official records respectively: Ng Ka-lee broke the 2019 record in discus; Cheng Hiu-yee broke the 2014 record in 800m running; and Wong Wing-hang broke the 1992 record in shot put, which had been buried for over 30 years.

As to team events, Hong Kong Police College won the championship in the 4×100m Promotion Relay while the first and second runners-up went to Operations Wing and New Territories South Region respectively. New Territories North Regional Headquarters and Airport Security Unit captured the championship in the respective categories of Other Formations/Units and Specialist/Training Units.

Moreover, the Police Athletics Club (PAC) has been committed to community engagement. Members of Project LEGACY, Project ACHIEVE and Police Mentorship Programme were invited as usual to partner with Force members to compete in the four relay races. Both the Force members and student members enjoyed the races.

PAC Chairman Dr Law Yuet-wing thanked the volunteers from the formations/units and staff workers for their support, which enabled the events to run smoothly.
