Recruitment Division held the Police Mentorship Programme (PMP) 2023/24 Orientation Day on April 13. It adopted an innovative and dynamic approach to welcome the new cohort of mentees and inaugurate PMP for the current year. The total number of local, mainland and overseas students enrolled in PMP this year exceeded 900, a record high since the establishment of PMP in 2004.

Head Mentor of PMP cum Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Chan Man-tak led representatives of various tertiary institutions and mentor representatives to host the opening ceremony of the PMP Orientation Day, which was joined by nearly 200 mentees. The Orientation Day was filled with challenging team building games arranged by the Junior Police Call Permanent Activity Centre and Integrated Youth Training Camp and the Hong Kong Police Tug of War Club. All the mentors and mentees were engrossed in the activities that fully demonstrated team spirit and cooperation. Two serving police inspectors shared their journeys from joining PMP to becoming members of the Force, as well as introducing this year’s summer internship.
