Secretary for Security Mr Tang Ping-keung led the Disciplined Services Cultural Exchange Delegation 2023 comprising about 140 representatives of the six disciplined services departments for a visit to Beijing, Shanghai and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area between April 24 and 30. Regional Commander of Kowloon East Dr Law Yuet-wing led a 22-member delegation of the Hong Kong Police Force (the Force delegation) to visit the public security agencies of Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Zhuhai for cultural exchange.


The Force delegation consisted of Deputy Head of the Force delegation cum District Commander of Tsuen Wan District Ng Cheuk-hang, representatives from four staff associations, ten sergeants and police constables from various frontline units. The ten frontline officers were handpicked in recognition of their outstanding performance in performing daily duties and had been praised by citizens. Their stories have also been adapted in short videos for training purpose and included in the Living-the-Values Workshop Wave X. The Force delegation was greeted by State Councillor cum Minister of Public Security Mr Wang Xiaohong and Vice Mayor of Shanghai cum Director of Shanghai Public Security Bureau Mr Zhang Yahong during the visit in Beijing and Shanghai respectively.


The Force delegates could witness in person the latest development of our country, as well as its rapid growth and encouraging achievements on different aspects. The members also had a deeper understanding of the practical work of their counterparts, which laid a solid foundation for future cooperation.
