Chief Superintendent of the Organized Crime and Triad Bureau Wong Wai led the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) delegation to attend the 18th Meeting of the Tripartite Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Working Group on Anti-illegal Gambling and Vice Activities held in Macao between July 3 and 4. The HKPF delegation met with the delegations led respectively by Deputy Director of Public Order Administration Bureau of Guangdong Public Security Department Mr Luo Zhiqiang and Assistant to Commissioner General of the Macao Unitary Police Service Mr Luis Leong.


The police forces from the three places introduced their local trends in illegal gambling and cross-border vice activities in recent years, as well as relevant strategies for combating such crimes. The three parties also engaged in in-depth discussion on exchange of criminal intelligence, modus operandi of the crimes, investigation techniques and possibilities for joint operation. All three parties agreed that the meeting played an important role in combatting illegal gambling and cross-border vice activities, enhancing the ability of the police forces in the three places to combatting such crimes, as well as contributing to the construction of a harmonious community in the GBA.
