To enhance the youth’s awareness of animal protection, Regional Crime Prevention Office (RCPO) of Marine (MAR) invited experienced dog trainer Station Sergeant Lau Tat-ming, the Animal Watchers Programme Captains and Watchers to lead six volunteer dogs to visit three schools on Cheung Chau on July 11.

The teachers and students interacted with the dogs. The students also had a chance to experience the daily work of a police dog handler and learn the skills to work with animals through close interaction. The officers shared messages about prevention of cruelty to animals and supporting animal adoption, as well as promoting the Animal Care Corner to the schools, hoping that the teachers and students would develop the awareness of animal care through keeping pets.
