SMPDIST


Commissioner Siu Chak-yee visited Sau Mau Ping District (SMPDIST) on July 21 to communicate with frontline officers. He attended its monthly conference, during which he was briefed on the challenges faced by frontline crime officers and the District’s initiatives to support them. With the soaring number of deception and technology crime, the Commissioner noted the heavy workload shouldered by crime officers and thanked them for holding to their posts steadfastly and performing their duties professionally.


Subsequently, the Commissioner toured the District Investigation Team (DIT) offices to exchange views with frontline DIT officers, listen to the challenges they faced and discuss suggestions on prevention of online scams. The Commissioner also responded to their questions in relation to work, manpower and welfare issues.


KCDIST


The Commissioner visited Kowloon City District (KCDIST) on July 24 and officiated at the opening ceremony of the renovated District Operations Room (DOR) with Regional Commander of Kowloon West Rupert Dover. Moreover, the Commissioner communicated with the officers and listened to their views on duty deployment and equipment. He also responded to their questions regarding the Force’s development, operational needs and welfare.


To meet operational needs, the hardware and facilities of KCDIST DOR have been comprehensively upgraded. The Room has been in service since July. A video wall comprising six display screens has been installed, with the system connected to the CCTV and public announcement facilities of the police station for officers to master situations instantly for higher operational efficiency and deployment capability.
