New Territories North (NTN) held the Project HERO Recognition Ceremony at the Police Officers’ Club on August 3. Commissioner Siu Chak-yee, Regional Commander of NTN Tsang Ching-fo, Acting Deputy Regional Commander of NTN Mao Lee-sha, the four District Commanders of the Region, together with Chairpersons of the District Fight Crime Committees, officiated at the ceremony and presented certificates of commendation to representatives of the management of the 34 Project HERO members. In his speech, the Commissioner said that in addition to thanking the stakeholders’ support and commending the contribution of Project HERO members, it was also hoped that more organisations and enterprises would understand the concept of the project so that the Force could unite the power of more enterprises and organisations to practise “preventing crime across the city”.

The Regional Crime Prevention Office of NTN officially launched Project HERO last October, under which officers visited public and private organisations/enterprises and invited them to join the project and assist in promoting anti-deception messages to the public. To date, the project is supported by 37 organisations/enterprises, for which 36 anti-deception seminars have been held, with cumulative audience of nearly 8 000.
