The Public Relations Wing led 49 Junior Police Call (JPC) members to Foshan to join the Guangdong Police cadet school training camp (phase one of the Nanhai Campus) held by the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department between July 15 and 21. This training camp was the first exchange between the Force and the cadet school.

JPC members lived and trained together with 90 Mainland trainees, experiencing disciplined living, building team spirit and learning self-care. On the first day of the course, officers from JPC Permanent Activity Centre and Integrated Youth Training Camp at Pat Heung, who were responsible for the JPC training group, led all the trainees to undergo various adventure training for team building and enhancing mutual understanding.

The training camp was staffed by Mainland’s student police officers as instructors, who were responsible for enforcing discipline in the camp, taking care of the trainees, teaching basic martial arts and conducting foot drill training. Police officers from different departments were invited to introduce and demonstrate various policing duties, and visits were arranged to a police dog base, a fire station, an anti-drug education base and museums. In addition to deepening JPC trainees’ understanding of police work, the training camp also enhanced their national awareness and understanding of the history and culture of our country, and facilitated trainees from both places to establish friendship.
