Commissioner Siu Chak-yee visited Western Police Station on November 13 to exchange views with frontline officers. The Commissioner listened to the measures undertaken by Western District (WDIST) in community policing and promoting youth engagement, shared his experience and provided guidance. He recognised the effectiveness of WDIST using the Task Force Sub-unit hotline to gather crime information and reiterated the importance of using the hotline appropriately.


The Commissioner also discussed with frontline officers on the challenges they faced during their daily duties and addressed their enquiries on Force development, work procedures, human resource management and welfare while emphasising his dedication to provide effective support for frontline officers. In addition, he reminded them of the importance of empathy for the citizens seeking help and encouraged the officers to execute their law enforcement duties with professionalism.
