Regional Commander (RC) of Marine (MAR) David Jordan was invited to attend the 3rd Coast Guard Global Summit held in Tokyo, Japan between October 30 and November 2. The Summit, which brought together representatives from 91 counties, districts and agencies, including the China Coast Guard, aimed to foster inter-regional and international co-operation on maritime safety, maritime security, fishery, marine environmental protection activities and combatting illicit activities across sea borders.


Moreover, Deputy RC of MAR Ip Che-man attended the 19th Heads of Asian Coast Guard Agencies Meeting held in Istanbul, Turkey between September 5 and 8. The representatives of maritime enforcement agencies of 22 countries discussed various maritime security and safety issues. Five working groups were established under the meeting, where the participating maritime enforcement agencies presented pivotal initiatives they promoted. They also shared their best practices and exchanged views on issues such as upholding maritime security.
