Commissioner Siu Chak-yee visited Sham Shui Po District (SSPODIST) on December 28, 2023 and toured the SSPODIST Junior Police Call (JPC) Club House in the company of District Commander (DC) of SSPODIST Chu Man-lung. The club house, which had been renovated with a trendy “hipster” theme, reopened in October 2023 to provide JPC members with a vibrant and culturally rich venue for activities. During the visit, the Commissioner listened to the District management introducing the unique characteristics of the community and specific policing challenges faced by SSPODIST. He also shared his insights on specific issues and affirmed the strategies and measures adopted by SSPODIST.

Moreover, the Commissioner proceeded to Sham Shui Po Police Station to communicate with frontline uniformed and criminal investigation officers to understand their working condition. During the exchange, the Commissioner encouraged them with his personal experience. The officers also reflected their views on the recent trial scheme in Kowloon West – Project PEELER. They opined that the scheme could support frontline officers and enhance the effectiveness of police patrols.
