The Regional Crime Prevention Office of Marine (MAR), collaborating with the NGO Paint Beautiful Hong Kong (PBHK), Lamma Island (North) Rural Committee (LINRC), and Man Lai Wah Resort (MLWR), organised the opening ceremony of the mural painting “Colouring Islands, Brushing Out Crime” on December 8, 2023. The designer of PBHK Ms Riitta Kuisma made use of the Force’s mascot “The Little Grape” and MAR’s mascot “Ping On Family” to promote messages of anti-deception, anti-crime and environment protection on a government wall located outside MLWR on Lamma Island. Regional Commander (RC) of MAR David Jordan, Chairperson of PBHK Ms Tam Sau-fong, Chairman of LINRC Mr Wan Yeung-kin and the person in charge of MLWR Ms Ho Lai-yee attended the ceremony as officiating guests.


Moreover, Marine East Division (MEDIV) co-operated with PBHK to paint a mural with the theme of sea safety on the exterior wall of MEDIV Base in Sai Kung and held the opening ceremony of “Paint • Sea Safety” on October 21, 2023. PBHK Honorary Advisor Mr Lam Kin-fung, RC of MAR David Jordan, Chairman of District Fight Crime Committee (Sai Kung District) Mr Ng Sze-fuk, Chairman of Sai Kung Kai Fong Committee Mr Li Fuk-hong, Chairperson of PBHK Ms Tam Sau-fong, mural designer Ms Riitta Kuisma, Marine Outer Waters District Commander Chan Tsz-leung and Divisional Commander of MEDIV Wong Yu-hang officiated at the ceremony. There were also a maritime search and rescue demonstration by the MEDIV jet ski team and MAR Small Unmanned Aircraft team, game booths and equipment displays and tours of MAR police launch and vessel. More than 600 people from 26 organisations and schools of the community joined the event.
