Anti-Organized Crime Command Course
The Organized Crime and Triad Bureau (OCTB) held the five-day Anti-Organized Crime Command Course 2024 for a delegation from the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) between January 10 and 16. The delegation led by the Director of Organized Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department of MPS Mr Liu Ningning comprised 25 crime commanders from 21 provinces and municipalities. The course, which has been run by OCTB for five times since 2016, aims to promote experience exchange between Hong Kong and the Mainland in combatting organized and triad crimes.
The course included over 50 hours of lectures, visits and topical discussion sessions between offices of the two places. Apart from the sharing given by officers of the Force, representatives from the Department of Justice and the Correctional Services Department were also invited to give lectures. The delegation was also arranged to visit the Marine Headquarters, Public Relations Wing and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau.
At the closing ceremony, Chief Superintendent of OCTB Wong Wai thanked the delegates for their active participation and experience sharing. He hoped that the course could facilitate deeper mutual understanding and co-operation between the law enforcement agencies of the two places. Officers of the Force also gained valuable experience from the delegates through the topical discussion sessions in the course.
Macao Gaming Industry Workshop
To strengthen officers’ capability to handle loan sharks and debt collection cases relating to Macao gaming industry, the Organized Crime and Triad Bureau (OCTB) co-organised the Macao Gaming Industry Workshop with the Gaming-related Crimes Division of Macao Judiciary Police (MJP) between January 10 and 12.
32 officers from OCTB, Criminal Intelligence Bureau, Commercial Crime Bureau, Financial Intelligence and Investigation Bureau, Detective Training Centre and five land Regions participated in the three-day workshop. The number of participants in this workshop was the largest among previous ones. MJP officers shared the latest developments in Macao’s gaming industry, crime trends, and law enforcement strategies with Force members. The officers also visited the security and command centre in two casinos to know more about the collaboration between MJP and casinos on combatting criminal activities therein.
