JPC Award Scheme 2023 Award Presentation Ceremony


The Public Relations Wing organised the Junior Police Call (JPC) Award Scheme 2023 Award Presentation Ceremony cum 50th and 10th Anniversaries of JPC and Senior Police Call (SPC) Kick-off Ceremony on March 2. More than 300 JPC members attended the ceremony in full uniform to receive commendations. The JPC Award Scheme has been launched since 1977 by the Force and fully supported by HSBC since 1986 to benefit more JPC members.


More than 4 600 JPC members participated in the JPC Award Scheme 2023 and 72 were awarded Gold Stars, 241 Silver Stars and 781 Bronze Stars. The number of awardees was more than twofold of the previous year. Many other awards were also presented to JPC School Clubs and advisory boards in various Districts in recognition of their outstanding performance in the publicity proposal competitions for School Club Activities Scheme, Anti-deception and Promotion of Safeguarding National Security respectively.


In addition to congratulating the awardees in his speech, Commissioner Siu Chak-yee also thanked members of the public, organisations, schools and parents for their ongoing support to JPC and SPC over the years, which allowed the two schemes to develop continuously in various aspects.


50th and 10th Anniversaries of JPC and SPC Kick-off Ceremony


This year marks the 50th and 10th anniversaries of the establishment of JPC and SPC respectively. Commissioner Siu Chak-yee and many senior officers officiated at the ceremony. The theme song of the event was premiered at the kick-off ceremony. The song was composed and the lyrics were written by two former JPC members, one of whom being Senior Inspector Yeung Chung-ting. The song would go with different activities and the slogan of the anniversary celebration to convey the belief of the two schemes. There was also an exhibition on the history of JPC and SPC, displaying nostalgic articles and photos. JPC and SPC members from Mongkok and Kwai Tsing Districts were invited to perform singing together with SPC Ambassador Mr Ng Tai-keung.
