City-wide promotional SMS about Scameter +

In mid-March, CSTCB, in collaboration with major mobile network operators in Hong Kong, launched an SMS message targeting all mobile phone users across the city. The SMS message promoted the upgraded version of the Scameter+ and its three main functions, urging the public to install or update the app.

All-round education

In March, CSTCB partnered with local secondary schools, Senior Police Call, MTR Corporation Limited, Bank of China (Hong Kong) Ltd, Cyberport and the Hong Kong Productivity Council to organise various seminars and promotion booths targeting 2 000 people from different age groups and sectors to deliver cyber security knowledge and crime prevention tips. During the annual event of a cyber security company, Chief Superintendent of CSTCB Lam Cheuk-ho highlighted the increasing numbers of cybercrime and emphasised the need for joint efforts from both public enterprises and private companies to tackle cyber threats.

Collaboration with INTERPOL

On March 20, CSTCB attended the 13th INTERPOL Anti-Transnational Financial Crime Working Group meeting online to discuss the threat of online deception due to cutting-edge technologies.
