On February 13, officers from Traffic Branch Headquarters (TBHQ) together with Regional Enforcement and Control Divisions went to Shenzhen to visit the largest new energy vehicle enterprise in the Mainland. This visit aimed at echoing the government environmental policies, i.e. government departments are required to purchase pure electric vehicles when replacing private cars, and to explore the feasibility of using electric vehicles for policing purposes.

During the visit, the receiving party introduced their electric vehicle model and the blade battery technology. Officers also visited the nail penetration laboratory to observe the safety tests of electric vehicle batteries under extreme conditions. This trip enabled the officers to keep abreast of the latest technologies and safety standards of electric vehicles, and also provided important references for the future electrification transformation of police vehicles.
