Situated on the 6th floor of Caine House, the Senior Officers’ Mess has been a vital hub for social and official gatherings among Force members since its official opening on March 25, 1955. In order to celebrate the Mess’s 70th anniversary, the Mess Committee has published a commemorative book titled “The 6/F of Caine House” for full and associate members of the Mess.

The commemorative book boasts an elegant and aesthetic design, with a cover that mimics the unique curled wooden panels of the bar’s walls, while the silver emblem at the centre pays homage to the plaque at the Mess’s entrance. The book content is divided into five main sections which introduce the history, the traditional activities and the role of the Mess as an internal communication platform for the Force and a venue for social activities in the community, and the heroes behind the Mess.

Initially, the Mess served as a social venue for senior police officers to hold official events and a dining facility for officers residing in the Caine House quarters for senior police officers. As time goes by, the Mess has evolved into an ideal venue for hosting a wide array of Force events. This commemorative book, through precious photographs and captivating text, allows readers to relive the moments they spent dining and participating in the activities at the Mess. It has received high praise from various members, current and retired personnel. This book has been permanently archived in the Force Library on the 7/F of the Police Headquarters for colleagues and visitors’ perusal.
