For frontline officers to gain a deeper understanding of the operation details of the taxi fleet regime, the Traffic Branch Headquarters (TBHQ) held a briefing for over 100 Force members. Transport Department (TD) representatives were invited to explain the operation of the taxi fleet regime, its features and possible scenarios to be confronted by frontline officers.

TD issued conditional grants of Taxi Fleet Licence to five taxi fleet operators in July last year. New regulations related to taxi fleet and new taxi fleet stopping places were also introduced. All fleet taxis are required to display a fleet taxi certificate and a fleet taxi plate. The first taxi fleet started its pilot operation on March 31.
