To foster engagement between the Force and secondary schools, seven Police Ambassadors of Project Legacy attended the Life-wide Learning Day of Holy Trinity College on February 21. They engaged with 135 Secondary Five students to share with them the requirements and process of becoming police constables and probationary inspectors, the challenges and interesting aspects of police work, as well as strategies for overcoming setbacks and regaining confidence in life, to help the students prepare career planning. The interactive session saw enthusiastic participation from students, who eagerly asked questions and engaged with the speakers.
Furthermore, Police Ambassador of Project Legacy, Chief Superintendent Mak Man-yu and officers from Tseung Kwan O District led more than 100 students from St. Paul’s College for a tour of Tseung Kwan O Police Station on April 2. Officers shared policing experiences, demonstrated police equipment and arranged a police dog show. To allow the students to experience the processes involved, officers arranged a simulated case-handling exercise for the teachers and students to enhance their understanding of policing work and their interest in a police career.
