Wong Tai Sin District (WTSDIST) organised a seminar on cyber security at the Kowloon East (KE) Regional Headquarters on March 21. Nearly 80 teachers and students from a master’s degree programme of Lingnan University attended the seminar.

The Police Community Relations Officer of WTSDIST Tso Wing-in started the seminar by giving a briefing on the modus operandi of online scams targeting Mainland students in Hong Kong and then gave some anti-deception tips. Subsequently, Regional Commander (RC) of KE Dr Law Yuet-wing enhanced the participants’ capabilities against cybercrime and provided preventive measures through analysing global deception data and scam techniques. In the discussion session, RC KE had in-depth discussion with the teachers and students on the Force’s strategies in combatting cybercrime, the mode of cooperation between Mainland and Hong Kong, and possible contributions from the academia.
