Assistant Commissioner (Operations) (ACP OPS) David Jordan presented a letter of appointment to Superintendent (SP) Siu Aubrey and appointed him to succeed the retiring SP Chik Ming-yam as the new Officer-in-charge (OC) of the Force Escort Group (FEG) at the Police Headquarters on April 15. Siu Aubrey, who has taken over the post of SP of the Enforcement and Control Division of Traffic New Territories North since his promotion in 2023, is a core veteran of the FEG. He has served in FEG for over eight years, having held positions as Team Leader and Second-in-command. He has participated in several large-scale security operations and has been dedicated to enhancing efficiency and improving the tactics of the FEG over the years, thereby establishing its professional image.
ACP OPS presented a souvenir to Chik Ming-yam to thank him for his contribution as OC FEG and praised him for his work in maintaining FEG’s professionalism through escort duties and public events. Chik Ming-yam has served in the Force for 43 years, including 24 years of service in FEG. He retired in 2019 as OC FEG and was later re-employed in 2020 to re-assume the post of OC FEG.
FEG, one of the Force’s volunteer secondary duty cadres, comprises over 60 officers from the five Regional traffic formations. It provides special traffic facilitation, including VIP motorcades, escorts for high-risk prisoners and movement of high-value cargoes. In 2024, FEG members contributed 4 857 man-days, totalling 206 mobilisations for such activities.
