The Force plans to issue Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN) electronically (via SMS or email) by mid-2025. The e-Traffic Ticket Platform and its mobile app will be rolled out by phases to provide the public with an alternative to traditional methods for viewing, verifying, and settling fines electronically.
At the invitation of the Force, Chairperson of the Legislative Council (LegCo) Panel on Transport Mr Chan Siu-hung and other LegCo members, including Mr Leung Man-kwong, Mr Chan Pui-leung, Ms Chan Kapui and Mr Wong Chun-sek, attended a briefing session on April 1. They gained in-depth understanding of the new ticketing regime and functionalities of the platform. At the briefing, which was led by Assistant Commissioner (Support) Au Wing-leung, officers of the Traffic Branch Headquarters (TBHQ) explained in details the traffic enforcement procedures under the digitalised ticketing system and demonstrated the key features of both the platform and its mobile app. Views on related issues were also exchanged on site.
Moreover, TBHQ will organise training workshops for frontline officers to ensure that they are fully familiarised with the implementation arrangement of FPN digitalisation.
