With the approach of the National Games, the Junior Police Officer Development Learning Division of the Police College (the College) co-organised a Continuing Professional Development Programme on crowd management with the Advanced Training Team of Police Tactical Unit (PTU) on April 2 to help the instructors keep abreast of the latest operational strategy and to enhance their competencies in delivering training.
Over 60 instructors from the School of Foundation Training, School of Professional Development and School of Specialised Learning of the College participated in the programme. Officers of PTU briefed on various topics, such as operational strategy, counterterrorism, major incident response and large-scale security operations.
Through lectures, group discussions and case studies, the participants had a deeper understanding of the latest crowd management operation tactics. The participants then joined a scenario-based simulated drill and exchanged their experience with the lecturer to enhance their capabilities in command, coordination and communication.
