Kowloon West (KW) has brought together a series of initiatives from four Districts, providing support to the non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) community and fostering social integration with their synergic efforts.
Project Gemstone of Yau Tsim District, Project Star Making of Kowloon City District, and Project Mama of Sham Shui Po District focus on language training, skills development and community activities respectively to support the integration of NEC individuals into the community and increase their employment opportunities. Meanwhile, Project Torch of Mong Kok District dedicates to equip aspiring young individuals for a career in the Force. A police inspector interview workshop was organised on May 15 for NEC participants from the other three Districts. Furthermore, the four Districts have joined hands to organise career planning activities. Participants of the aforementioned four projects were arranged to visit Mong Kok Fire Station on May 11, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of disciplined services.
Through such cross-district collaboration, participants may learn about diverse career options, exchange insights and build friendship with their peers from other Districts. KW will further strengthen collaboration among Districts and integrate resources to create a harmonious society with NEC individuals together.
