The Police College (the College) is dedicated to developing strategic partnerships with enforcement agencies of the “Belt and Road” countries. On June 10, a Memorandum of Understanding was co-signed by Director of Personnel and Training Choi Chin-pang and Head of the Almaty Academy of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Almaty Academy) Mr Kalizhan Koblandin. Both parties will explore cooperation initiatives for enhanced collaboration in police training and professional development, fostering the exchange of best practices and the implementation of exchange programs so as to elevate the operational effectiveness of both jurisdictions.

Following the visit of a delegation from the College to the Almaty Academy in September last year, a five-member delegation from the Almaty Academy conducted a reciprocal visit from June 8 to 11 and became the first delegation from a Central Asian “Belt and Road” country to visit the College. The delegation toured the College, Marine Regional Headquarters, Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau, Key Points and Search Division of Major Events Bureau, and the Safe Community Hub of the Inter-departmental Counter-Terrorism Unit.
