To further strengthen the command and operational decision making capability of frontline commanders during major incidents and emergency scenarios, Counter Terrorism and Major Incidents Bureau of Operations Wing organised the 18th Incident Command Course from May 19 to 23. A total of 26 participants attended the course, including 15 Force members ranked from Superintendent to Chief Superintendent, as well as representatives from emergency response or law enforcement agencies of Hong Kong, Macao, the Mainland, Singapore and Indonesia.
The five-day course featured a comprehensive curriculum covering theoretical knowledge on command, several simulated scenarios and evaluations. Simulated scenarios included management of large-scale public events, major incident response and counter-terrorism operations. All these were designed to strengthen participants’ capabilities in command and crisis management during emergency incidents. Moreover, participants had taken this opportunity to share their practical experiences for tackling relevant challenges.
