New Territories North (NTN) jointly held an inter-departmental coordination forum codenamed STORMWATCH with Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, Tai Po and North District Offices, Fire Services Department and Civil Aid Service on May 26, with a view to strengthening inter-departmental collaboration and enhancing response capabilities as well as communication efficiency under extreme weather.
During the forum, the participants shared the operational challenges as well as command and response experience under extreme weather. They also showcased the latest technologies and professional equipment used in rescue operations. Participants actively exchanged views and reached consensus on inter-departmental communication and collaboration, command and response, resource allocation as well as training and exercises, so as to make full preparation for the upcoming tropical cyclone season.
