To encourage students to experience different cultures and explore the world outside Hong Kong, the Mainland and Overseas Summer Course Sponsorship Scheme now offers sponsorship to children of police officers to attend mainland and overseas summer courses. The scheme is open for application for rank of senior superintendent or below. The maximum amount of subsidy is as follows -

* The subsidy amount for each application may be adjusted across-the-board downwards depending on the number of applicants and the budget of that year.
Interested officers should note the following Terms and Conditions -
Qualification for application
1. Applicant should be a serving police officer, and his/her child should be either blood related or legally adopted and has not been sponsored under this scheme previously. If both parents are police officers, only one of them may apply for the nominee.
2. The child should be aged between 10 and 21 on June 1, 2025, i.e. born between June 1, 2004 and May 31, 2015.
3. Parents and children can choose their own courses in the Mainland or overseas (excluding Macao and Taiwan) subject to the endorsement of the Force. However, the programme should generally be held in the period between June and August, and organised by reputable institutions. General sightseeing tours or regular school programme will not be supported.
4. All matters and disputes are subject to the final decision of the Force.
Application procedures
Applicants should submit the application form (which could be obtained from Force Noticeboard or website of Personnel Services and Staff Relations (PS&SR) Branch), with photocopies of the following required supporting documents -
• Certificate of Birth of the child
• School report of academic year 2023-2024 of the child (including the second term)
• Details of the summer course
• Confirmation of summer course enrolment
• Payment receipt of the summer course
• First page of a bank passbook or bank statement bearing the name and bank account number of the applicant (the name and bank account shown on the bank passbook or bank statement shall tally with those on the application form)
Application should reach the below office either by hand or by post by 1700hrs on July 14, 2025 -

Other information
Sponsorship will be payable to successful applicants’ designated bank account. On returning to Hong Kong, participants may be called upon to assist in future events related to the scheme.
