From June 21 to July 18, a National Security (NS) Express photo spot resembling a train compartment has in turn been installed at MTR Hong Kong Station and Kowloon Station, with videos of “Hong Kong National Security Law (HKNSL) – The Cornerstone of Prosperity and Stability” and “Safeguarding National Security II” being shown. Separately, exhibition boards on NS laws under the theme of the 5th anniversary of the promulgation and implementation of HKNSL have been displayed successively in MTR Stations at Kowloon Tong, Mei Foo, Admiralty and Tseung Kwan O, where an NSmart Quiz kiosk has also been set up.
The first part of the exhibition boards on NS laws explains the fact that enacting laws to safeguard NS is an international practice, and affirms the importance of such laws in safeguarding sovereignty, security and development interests of our nation. The second part demonstrates that the HKNSL achieves convergence, compatibility and complementarity with the Safeguarding National Security Ordinance, and together they form a comprehensive legal system and enforcement mechanism for safeguarding NS. The third part focuses on the key points of time and emphasises the vital role of legislation in safeguarding Hong Kong’s long-term prosperity and stability. Under the backdrop of the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR, our implementation of “patriots administering Hong Kong” has enabled a solid foundation for the implementation of “one country, two systems” in the HKSAR.
