On June 19, Regional Crime Prevention Office (RCPO) of New Territories North (NTN) and the National Security and Legal Education Research Centre (Centre) of the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) co-hosted the National Security (NS) Education Train-the-trainer Seminar. Deputy Commissioner (National Security) Kan Kai-yan, while giving his opening remarks, emphasised the importance of NS education in fostering civic responsibility. He hoped that this seminar would deepen educators’ understanding of NS education and strengthen its practical application in teaching, effectively raising students’ awareness and appreciation of NS.
The seminar featured two speakers: Director of the Centre Professor Gu Minkang, who discussed the Substantive, Procedural and Special Provisions of the Hong Kong National Security Law, and Vice Chairman of Hong Kong Legal Exchange Foundation barrister Mr Wu Yingpeng who shared insights on the Constitutional Order of HKSAR and NS Legislation. The session was concluded with an introduction by Regional Crime Prevention Officer of NTN Wong Cheung-hing who presented the NS Education Teaching Kit launched by the Force.
The seminar attracted the participation of over 200 educators from 67 institutions. On the same day, the NSpeed NS Express Promotional Truck also arrived at EdUHK to disseminate NS messages.
