Police Drugs Disposal Unit under NB is responsible for executing drug destruction procedures for the Force. Under the supervision of the regularly convened Dangerous Drugs Destruction Board from Crime Wing, Emergency Unit of Hong Kong Island assists in escorting the drugs pending destruction to the Chemical Waste Treatment Centre under the Environmental Protection Department (EPD). The drugs are destroyed through chemical treatment and incineration in closed incinerators. EPD monitors emissions from the treatment facility to ensure full compliance with the environmental standards.
