Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) hosted the fifth Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Economic Crime Investigation Conference on June 19 and 20. Since 2017, the conference has been hosted by CCB, Economic Crime Investigation Department of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department (ECID GDPSD) and Macao Judiciary Police (MJP) by turns annually.

This year, the conference was presided over by Chief Superintendent (CSP) of CCB Wong Chun-yue and attended by Guangdong and Macao delegates led by Head of the ECID GDPSD Mr Zhu Jiawei and Deputy Director of MJP Mr Sou Sio-keong respectively. The three parties discussed various issues in depth, including the current landscape of economic crime in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao region and how to combat it through legal reform, effective use of technology and robust public-private partnership.

In light of the evolving patterns of economic crime in recent years, the heads of the three parties presented the latest developments of economic crime at the meeting and shared their experiences gained in taking enforcement actions. With the further integration within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, all three parties agreed to strengthen collaboration especially in combatting major cross-border economic crimes.
