To reinforce its role in safeguarding national security and upholding the principle of “patriots administering Hong Kong”, the Force revised its Force Vision, Common Purpose, and Values (“1-8-9”) by including “Safeguarding national security” and “Patriotism with affection for our country and Hong Kong” in our Common Purpose and Values respectively.

A newly designed poster of the updated “1-8-9” has been produced to replace the original one, which had been in place for nearly 30 years. The framed posters have been distributed to all Formations in early July with a view to enhancing officers’ awareness on “1-8-9” and fostering their sense of belonging and commitment.
