To mark the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the National Security Department (NSD) of the Hong Kong Police Force this year, NSD, in collaboration with Service Quality Wing, held a “1-8-9” interactive pop-up event cum mini- exhibition on the 5th anniversary of establishment of NSD from June 30 to July 8. The event featured a mini-game that illustrated the updated Force Vision, Common Purpose and Values, along with a WeChat augmented reality photo-taking activity that conveyed the event’s theme. At the same time, the exhibition gave an overview of the NSD’s new lines-to-take released on June 30.
Commissioner Chow Yat-ming and Deputy Commissioner (National Security) Kan Kai-yan officiated at the opening ceremony of the event at Arsenal House of Police Headquarters (PHQ) on June 30. Representatives from staff associations (Superintendents’ Association, Hong Kong Police Inspectors’ Association, Overseas Inspectors’ Association and Junior Police Officers’ Association) took part in the event to show their support. Held at the PHQ and the Police Sports and Recreation Club (PSRC) respectively, the event attracted over 6 000 officers. The event helped officers strengthen their sense of mission to safeguard national security, reinforce their affection for the country and Hong Kong, and enhance their understanding of the NSD.
