On July 19, Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) held the appointment ceremony of the 2nd term of Technology Crime Support Cadre, appointing ten auxiliary members to the cadre as new members. With diverse backgrounds, professional IT knowledge and strong technical capabilities, members have introduced fresh perspectives and innovative thinking to the Force. The newly joined members have participated in missions such as cyber patrols, virtual asset investigations and enforcement system development since July. This expansion brings the total number of cadre members to 40 since its establishment in 2023.
Chief Superintendent (CSP) of CSTCB Lam Cheuk-ho and CSP of Kowloon West (Auxiliary) Chu Ka-chung welcomed the new members for joining and expressed their appreciation to the incumbent members who have leveraged their professional knowledge and expertise in data analysis to work alongside CSTCB officers in combatting cybercrime, tracing illicit virtual asset flows, developing intelligent enforcement tools and advancing the development of digital policing. The current members also shared their experience at the ceremony to enhance the overall capability in tackling technology crimes.
