On July 24, the New Territories North (NTN) Region held the kick-off ceremony for the Anti-Deception Month cum Project HERO Recognition Ceremony 2025 to commend the community efforts which support the anti-deception publicity of the Force. Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Yip Wan-lung stated in the speech that “Policing with the community” was one of the strategic directions of the Force. Adopting a public-private partnership model, Project HERO has integrated anti-deception messages into citizens’ daily lives and achieved remarkable results.
Since its launch in October 2022, the Project has enlisted more than 80 enterprises and organisations, held around 90 talks, distributed more than 400 000 anti-deception leaflets and reached over 13 000 persons. This year, NTN is joining hands with over 60 members of the Project, district hospitals, schools, shopping malls, District Services & Community Care Teams, District Council members and so on to hold the NTN Anti-Deception Month 2025 from July 24 to August 31 to deliver the latest anti-deception information to the public through multiple channels.
NTN will also host the NTN Anti-Deception Thankful Festival from July 24 to October 15 and hold around 20 talks. There will also be a lucky draw with prizes totalling over HK$200 000 and a special “Best Anti-Deception Promoter” award to encourage citizens to learn about anti-deception knowledge and safeguard the community together.
