At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison (the Hong Kong Garrison), the management of Traffic Branch Headquarters (TBHQ) led a nine-member delegation to hold a talk about traffic regulations of Hong Kong at the San Wai Barracks in Sha Tau Kok on July 25. The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Hong Kong Garrison Navy Senior Captain Zhang Zaige led over 200 officers of the Garrison to attend in person. The talk was also live-streamed to other barracks of the Hong Kong Garrison, with over 600 officers of the Garrison participated online at the same time.
The talk covered the characteristics of Hong Kong roads, the Road Traffic Ordinance, the governing of driving behavior by the legislation, the handling of traffic accidents involving Hong Kong Garrison vehicles, the Force’s investigation and procedures, as well as the publicity and educational initiatives taken by the Force to minimise traffic accidents involving police vehicles.
The talk addressed the difficulties and challenges encountered by the drivers of the Hong Kong Garrison while driving in Hong Kong and clarified the differences between the traffic regulations in the two places, thereby enhancing the road safety awareness of the drivers of the Hong Kong Garrison.
