The Knowledge Management (Marine Policing) team held two physical and online experience sharing sessions in June and July, actively promoting interdepartmental cooperation and knowledge exchange to enhance the professionalism and enforcement capabilities of frontline officers. Both sharing sessions were warmly received and attracted over a hundred Force members.


The first sharing session was held on June 27 at the Government Dockyard. Senior Inspector of the Marine Joint Task Force of the Customs and Excise Department Mr Tang Sau-yin delivered a keynote presentation covering maritime smuggling trends and relevant case analysis, recent smuggling trends, the Import and Export Ordinance, the Dutiable Commodities Ordinance, specific case studies and the application of Smart Customs technologies.


The second sharing session was held on July 17 at the Marine Regional Headquarters. Fisheries Supervisor I of the Agriculture Fisheries and Conservation Department Mr Tam Kai-chung was invited as the keynote speaker to detail the characteristics of illegal fishing, relevant provisions under the Fisheries Protection Ordinance and enforcement actions. Representatives from three local fishermen organisations were also invited to share their insights into combatting illegal fishing.
