The second stop of Good Citizens Award (GCA) Roving Exhibition has been held in New Town Plaza, Sha Tin, from August 7 to 13. The theme of the exhibition was “Good Citizen - Good Stories - Everywhere” which meant that the stories of good citizens can be found everywhere.
The GCA scheme obtained the support of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC) this year and the launching ceremony was held on August 10 which was officiated by the Commissioner Chow Yat-ming and the Chairman of the CGCC Dr Choi Koon-shum. Junior Police Call (JPC) Minibeans also assisted to make a live report.
The awardees of Good Citizen of the Year Award 2024 Mr Chau Ji-yu and Mr Man Suet-leung were invited to the event for sharing their experience of saving lives bravely at the scene of the fire with members of the public. Both of them were awarded Medals for Bravery (Bronze) on July 1.
The Commissioner also introduced to the public the brand new Hong Kong Police Mobile Application, and emphasised that the new functions were conducive to enhancing the law enforcement capabilities and service quality and promoting smart policing.
The exhibition received an overwhelming response and attracted over 5 500 visitors. Participants expressed that the exhibition enhanced their understanding of the GCA scheme and they would assist in promoting the good citizen spirit. The upcoming exhibition will be held at apm in Kwun Tong between November 6 and 12. Stay tuned.
