Eric, a colleague from the Traffic New Territories North, sustained multiple serious injuries and was once critical in a traffic accident on the Shenzhen Bay Bridge on June 6 when he unfortunately fell from the bridge. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the healthcare staff at Tuen Mun Hospital, Eric was discharged on August 16 and is now recovering at home. He wrote a thank-you letter to express his gratitude to his superiors, colleagues and healthcare staff for their support and assistance during his difficult time.
Dear Colleagues,
I recalled the difficult time when I was still in the Intensive Care Unit on June 16 which happened to be my birthday. On that day, a group of senior Force management members, formation supervisors, colleagues and friends came to visit me, bringing birthday cards, get-well cards, a police car model and a police traffic panda toy. They cheered me up on my birthday, and gave me positive energy as well as blessings. Even though there were tubes inserted on several parts of my body at the time and I couldn’t express my gratitude to all of you in words, I was deeply moved and excited!
The numerous warm support, blessings and encouragement gave me immense strength and left me deeply moved. I sincerely thank all the superiors and colleagues for their care and attention on me. Every act of kindness has made me feel much cherished and aware of the importance of team cohesion and support.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my Traffic supervisors and colleagues for sharing the additional workload during this period. I hope I can recover as soon as possible and return to my post to continue working alongside my colleagues in the team, facing challenges together.
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire medical team of Tuen Mun Hospital, including the Accident & Emergency Department, Department of Surgery, Department of Radiology, Anaesthetic Department, Intensive Care Unit, Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, and Department of Physiotherapy. The exceptional skills and professionalism of every department enabled my swift and smooth recovery, even faster than expected. Every doctor, nurse and healthcare staff treated my every single need with patience and care. I experienced meticulous attention throughout the treatment process. They helped me gradually regain my physical abilities and brought me comfort during the difficult time.
Finally, I want to thank everyone who has appeared in my life, and every one of you even though I haven’t met who have sent me blessings and enabled me to feel warmth and hope even in adversity,
Yours faithfully,
Eric
