The Regional Crime Prevention Office of New Territories North (NTN), in collaboration with Yuen Long District and the Family and Child Protective Services Unit (Yuen Long) of the Social Welfare Department, held a cultural training seminar under “Diverse Community Family Protection Programme” on July 10 which attracted over 30 social welfare practitioners for participation. Ethnic minority community leaders and police officers were invited to share real cases, analyse cultural differences and signs of domestic violence, so as to enhance the professional competencies of frontline social workers.
In addition, NTN Region held its third liaison meeting with non-ethic Chinese (NEC) community leaders and representatives from the Home Affairs Department on August 6. During the meeting, officers shared the regional crime trends, crime prevention initiatives and liaison work with NEC communities. The digitalisation of Fixed Penalty Notices was also explained to enhance attendees’ understanding of digital policing.
