To manage the large crowd during the large-scale events at Kai Tak Sports Park, the Force has set up an "Information Music Station" (the Station) during the dispersal phase of events. Combining a large LED display, live music and public announcement, the Station provides visitors with information on real-time traffic and estimated waiting time while at the same time creates a safe, orderly and enjoyable atmosphere. Visitors gave very positive feedbacks to such arrangement, commending that it largely enhanced their experience and enjoyment in the event.
In August, a group of mentees from the Police Mentorship Programme (PMP) were selected to serve as Music station DJs following the famous singer G.E.M.’s concerts at the Kai Tak Main Stadium. The DJs provided professional public announcements to enhance their public speaking skills and confidence. During the concert, the mentees were arranged to visit the crowd management work at the venue and the Police Command Centre to acquire better understanding of policing work.
