The 18th Military Summer Camp for Hong Kong Youth and the 12th Hong Kong Tertiary Military Life Experience Camp were held between August 1 and 10 at the San Wai Barracks in Fanling. Over 450 local university and secondary school trainees received a ten‑day military training. 26 police officers served as voluntary instructors in the camps, led by examples to guide the trainees and demonstrate Force’s values. Commissioner Chow Yat-ming officiated at the closing ceremony on August 10, witnessing the achievements of the trainees.
The Summer Camp and the Life Experience Camp were jointly organised by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison, the Education Bureau, the Concerted Efforts Resource Centre and the Hong Kong Army Cadets Association. The camps aim to enable the trainees to experience the life in the People’s Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison, instill discipline, and enhance their understanding of the nation’s military development.
