To celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the Implementation of Hong Kong National Security Law, the Police Dragon Boat Club (PDBC) held the “5th Anniversary of Promulgation & Implementation of Hong Kong National Security Law Police Dragon Boat Club Charity Race” at Ma Liu Shui Marine Police Base on October 4, attracting over 800 participants. Members of the Administrative Service Association and Security Bureau Youth Uniformed Group Leaders Forum were invited to participate in the race. The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Miss Rosanna Law also attended the race to show her support.


61 teams from various formations of the Force, community programmes, Junior Police Call (JPC) and various police associations participated in 12 different races. Among them, the "JPC Inter-District Dragon Boat Charity Race 2025", jointly organised by JPC and the PDBC, was intense. After fierce competition among JPC members from 12 districts, the Marine Port District won the JPC Dragon Boat Cup championship, while the Sham Shui Po and Kwai Tsing Districts secured second and third places respectively. In the JPC Dragon Boat Plate Competition, the Western District clinched the championship, while the Tuen Mun and Border Districts secured second and third places respectively.


In addition to promoting the dragon boat sport, it was also hoped that funds could be raised through the event to help those people in need in the society. Various races raised approximately $560,000, among which the JPC raised $218,000. After deducting the event expenses, the funds will all be donated to the Intellectually Disabled Education and Advocacy League as well as the Direction Association For The Handicapped.


Apart from the thrilling dragon boat races, the NSpeed National Security Express Promotional Truck was arranged to the venue to strengthen the grasp of National Security for the public through diversified activities. In addition, a booth was set up by the Leadership Institute on Narcotics at the venue to enhance the understanding of etomidate for the young people and raise their awareness about the dangers of drug. The Operation Breakthrough dance team also performed at the event. The race was not only a major sports event but also a profound promotion of the spirit of the rule of law, showcasing the shared vision of various sectors of the society to maintain social stability and harmony.
