To celebrate the 5th anniversary of the promulgation and implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law and enhance officers' professional understanding in national security, New Territories South (NTS) specially organised the NTS National Security Education and Promotion Project. The first phase of the event was an online quiz, and the second phase was a knowledge challenge.

Online Quiz

The online quiz coordinated by Shatin District was held in June and July. It featured questions curated from the National Security Exhibition Gallery to deepen officers' understanding of the holistic approach to national security. Over 70 per cent of NTS staff participated in the quiz and many of them secured full marks. Traffic NTS won the "Most Active Formation Award" while the "Most Elite Formation Award" and the "Most Outstanding Formation Award" went to the Airport District and the NTS Operations Wing respectively.

Knowledge Challenge

The Knowledge Challenge was held on September 29 at the Police Sports and Recreation Club. The event featured interactive games and live quiz competitions to enhance officers’ awareness of national security. Each formation selected ten of their finest to join the competition alongside Regional Commander of NTS Mak Chin-ho, Assistant Commissioner (National Security) (2) Kwok Ka-chuen, and commanders from various formations. They also teamed up with citizens for the competition.

On the day of the event, the flag-raising team from the CUHKFAA Thomas Cheung Kindergarten was invited to conduct a flag-raising ceremony. Students from the secondary division of the Hong Kong Baptist University Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School also performed classic pieces with traditional Chinese music. Additionally, singer Nancy Lee, who is also the President of the Shatin District Senior Police Call, performed the patriotic education song "Our Home" to convey a sense of national pride through music.
