Hong Kong Island Region (HKI) held the Junior Police Call (JPC) Anti-Narcotics and Fight Crime 3x3 Basketball Tournament and Carnival on October 19. Sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), the JPC Anti-Narcotics and Fight Crime 3x3 Basketball Training Programme 2025 aimed to promote anti-drug and crime prevention messages to young people through basketball games. The tournament attracted 216 participating teams comprising about 900 students from nearly 100 primary and secondary schools.
Commissioner Chow Yat-ming, Executive Director, Corporate Affairs of HKJC Mr Tam Chi-yuen, Regional Commander of HKI Au Wing-leung, Chairman of the HKI Teens and Elderly Mission Committee Mr Tong Tai-kam, Assistant Commissioner (National Security) (2) Kwok Ka-chuen, Assistant Commissioner (Public Relations) cum Chairperson of the JPC Central Advisory Board Chan Sze-tat, representatives of five Districts as well as a large number of principals, teachers and students attended the event to show support.
The Commissioner hoped that the training program could strengthen young people’s awareness of staying away from drugs and upholding the rule of law, enhance their sense of national security, and foster positive values. He encouraged the winners to not only demonstrate an indomitable spirit on the court but also uphold proper values on the path in life. Tam Chi-yuen stated that HKJC would continue to work closely with the Government and various sectors of the community to help young people cultivate a law-abiding spirit and stay away from temptations as well as illegal gambling through diversified projects.
The carnival featured 20 game booths on crime prevention themes, enabling the participants to learn about the dangers of drugs and the latest scam tactics. The NSpeed National Security Express Promotional Truck was also on site to raise the national security awareness among the public through interactive exhibitions.
