Support Wing organised a thematic seminar on Code on Access to Information (Code) and Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Ordinance) at the Police Headquarters on October 28 with the aim of enhancing the professionalism and ability of Force members in handling requests for access to public information and applications for access to personal data, as well as raising their awareness to the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI). Senior Personal Data Officer (Complaints) from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD) Ms Addy Lai then introduced the recently established “Checklist on Guidelines for the Use of Generative AI by Employees” and the handling of data access requests involving personal data under the Ordinance. Chief Inspector (Force Data and Access to Information Coordinator) Wong Ngan-ling concluded the seminar with key points in processing data requests of the Force. Assistant Ombudsman Mr Kenny Tang also attended the seminar and exchanged experiences with Force members on handling various types of data requests.
